  1. Yes, though I think you are some few years younger than I. Your experience of this phenomenon over the next ten or fifteen years may come to resemble mine in that you may for a time become quite aware of Death’s constant presence, only later to get used to it and not notice it so much.

  2. I’m surrounded by death at work. Babies, young children. . . . Today outside my office door they were filming a news story about a young man of 17 who was murdered at a party. His poor parents barely got through the interview. I’ll admit that I fear death more for my family than for myself–what would I do without one of my children?
