Gettin’ some satisfaction

“To write a song that is remembered and taken to heart is a connection, a touching of bases.  A thread that runs through all of us.  A stab to the heart.  Sometimes I think songwriting is about tightening the heartstrings as much as possible without bringing on a heart attack.” — Keith Richards, Life

  1. I was on the waiting list for months at my local library waiting for Richards’ book. It was worth the wait.

When I was an old teen/young man, I was a big Stones fan. There was one month when I listened to “Gimme Shelter” every day. It was just a shot away.

  2. That brings back some mems. Me and the gang at the New Wave clubs, tricked out in our clothes and doos, drinking blind and dancing wild.

I am so glad I had the sense to be young when I was young.
