“People always think that a man’s fortunes are more or less determined by his appearance, by the beauty or ugliness of his face, by his size, by his hair or lack of it. Wrong. It is the voice that decides it all.” — Milan Kundera, Slowness (trans. Asher)

I have to agree. Several times now I have fallen for a rich voice; and other times the man who has it all except for those special tones has been left standing there and will never understand the why of it.
I used to be a radio announcer. Callers to the station told me they loved my dulcet tones. But it was just a voice in the wilderness.
I fell in love with my husband over the phone. He has this deep, slow Virginia drawl that still makes me weak in the knees.
I’m enthralled by your history as a radio announcer, Tetman. Anything else up your sleeve?
